Angel Food America Community Recovery brings together the best of long term recovery and first response. By resourcing first responders with the food that they need and supporting our partner locations in the disaster zone, we reduce the trauma of disaster by letting all of those involved know that they are not alone. Because we are connected to 4500 community locations we don’t have to wait to find out what is needed or to find a place to stage our response, but get immediate reports from the people closest to the situation.
Community Recovery Goals
1. Provide food resource to first responders and partner locations in the affected areas to ensure adaquate nutrition fuels their work.
2. Mobilize our network of 4500 community based organizations to secure specific resources that are needed.
3. Establish community food resources that will help the entire community make a full recovery more quickly.
4. Stay in the community for the long haul- changing the way that food relief is delivered to needy citizens in that community.
